Privacy

Individual data from the study are only for academic research purposes and will not be passed on to anyone outside the research team. Your food and beverage purchases are made in strict confidence, and your name will not be used in any report or data file. Your purchases will be recorded using your randomly-assigned participant ID number. To protect your privacy, identifying information about yourself such as Date of Birth and participant identifying numbers will be stored in a locked cabinet in the project director’s office. All data collected in the study will be stored on a server protected by password to which only members of the research team have access.

The research study you are participating in may be reviewed for quality assurance to make sure that the required laws and guidelines are followed. If chosen, (a) representative(s) of the Human Research Ethics Program (HREP) may access study-related data and/or consent materials as part of the review. All information accessed by the HREP will be upheld to the same level of confidentiality that has been stated by the research team.
